About the owner
My name is Ryan. I am a mechanical design engineer with a passion for pets and homesteading. My wife and I both work full time and run a small homestead in central Oklahoma. We have two kids, three dogs, and a lot of chickens. In our 'free' time, we enjoy camping. I started this shop as a side business to create products for homesteading, pets, and all things life.
I grew up in rural northwest Kansas. I was a member of 4H and showed rabbits, chickens, and sheep at the county fair. My grandparents ran a farm on the Kansas/Nebraska border. I enjoyed staying with them in the summer and helping my grandpa harvest wheat and tend to his many cattle.
Where did the store name come from?
When my wife and I first got married, our very first family addition together was a long-haired dachshund named Wriggly. Despite his small size, Wriggly had the heart of a big dog. He loved hiking, faced obstacles with determination, and rarely accepted help—always eager to figure things out on his own.
Wriggly especially loved visiting my grandparents’ farm, where he would sit and watch the cattle with fascination, frustrated that he could not join the Border Collies out in the pasture. He truly was the best companion a couple could ask for. So, when it came time to choose a business name, Wriggly’s Widgets felt like the perfect fit. To me, it is more than just a name—it is a daily reminder that running a business means facing challenges head-on. With a little creativity, planning, and persistence, even the smallest of us can overcome the biggest obstacles.
